If you’ve only seen luxury coach trains in a few selected cities in India, like Shimla, Kashmir Valley, or Darjeeling, get ready for a pleasant surprise! Jharkhand residents will soon enjoy the luxury coach experience as well.
The New Giridih-Ranchi Intercity Express is all set to be inaugurated on September 12th. The train will depart from New Giridih Railway Station with a flag-off ceremony at 10 AM and commence its regular operation from the same day.
This Intercity Express will feature luxurious vista-dome coaches, offering passengers breathtaking views of Jharkhand’s scenic landscapes.
The railway authorities have released the train’s timetable and schedule for travelers’ convenience.
What Are Vista-Dome Coaches?
Speaking of vista-dome coaches, these are railway carriages designed with panoramic, dome-shaped windows that allow passengers to enjoy scenic views during their journey.
Such coaches are often introduced to boost tourism. In Jharkhand, where beautiful hills and forests are part of the train journey experience, vista-dome coaches will provide even clearer and more beautiful views, promoting tourism in the region.
Comfort and Facilities Inside the Coaches
Inside these coaches, passengers will enjoy various amenities. The train will consist of a total of 13 coaches, each accommodating 42 to 44 passengers.
The seats are comfortable and can rotate up to 180 degrees, offering passengers a great view. There will be plush pushback seats, and every seat will have charging points.
Information about the journey, stations, and other details will be displayed on boards for travelers’ convenience.
Timetable Information
Here is the schedule for the Ranchi-New Giridih Express, which will run from September 13, 2023:
- Departure from Ranchi: 06:05 AM
- Stops at Tata Silve: 06:23 AM, Mesra: 06:42 AM, Barkakana: 08:05 AM, Hazaribagh Town: 09:08 AM, Koderma: 10:30 AM, Maheshpur Halt: 11:20 AM, Dhanwar: 11:40 AM, Jumua: 12:03 PM
- Arrival at New Giridih: 01:00 PM
For the return journey, the New Giridih-Ranchi Express will start from New Giridih at 02:00 PM, with stops at various stations, and arrive in Ranchi at 09:30 PM.
Currently, the train will operate on the Tata Silve-Mesra-Barkakana route instead of Tata Silve-Muri-Barkakana.
