Himachal’s Inviting Hill Stations: Special Discounts for Travelers

This year, we are all aware of the havoc wreaked upon Himachal Pradesh. Everywhere we looked, there were images of devastation – houses and temples crumbling, animals and people stranded in floodwaters.

Due to these events, Himachal’s tourism also suffered a significant setback. Though it will take time for things to stabilize, there is hope on the horizon.

The Tourism and Civil Aviation Director has announced measures to boost tourism in places unaffected by the disaster.

Travelers can now explore destinations like Kasauli, Chail, Kinnaur, and Narkanda with confidence.

Reopening the Roads

Information indicates that the roads leading to these areas have been reopened and are deemed safe for travel.

Additionally, places like McLeodganj, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Palampur, Khajjiar, and Chamba are now suitable for tourists.

Discounts at Hotels

During the ongoing off-season, tourists can benefit from discounted rates at many hotels across the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the tourism sector, which contributes 7% to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and provides nearly 14.42% of employment in the state, both directly and indirectly.

Helicopter Services

Due to road blockages caused by heavy rains, some roads have been affected. However, the state government’s determined efforts have now allowed tourists to visit districts like Shimla, Chamba, and Kangra.

Additionally, there are a few flights operating from Delhi to Shimla, connecting travelers to Kangra Airport in Gaggal, Dharamshala.

To provide further convenience to tourists, Pawan Hans Limited operates helicopter services under the Udaan scheme, connecting Chandigarh to Shimla and, subsequently, Shimla to Rampur, Kullu, Mandi, and Dharamshala.
