Indians Celebrate Visa-Free Access to Dream Destination Unveiled!

When we step out of India, one of the biggest concerns for all of us revolves around flight tickets, hotel bookings, and sightseeing.

But there’s one crucial detail we often overlook – the visa. Yes, it’s that essential document that aids your travels abroad, allowing you to stay in a country for the desired duration.

Each country has its limitations; for example, in the Maldives, you can stay for 90 days, while in other countries, it might be 30 or 20 days.

But here’s some great news! If you’re planning a trip to Sri Lanka, you won’t need a visa anymore. Sri Lanka has implemented visa-free entry for Indians.

The Sri Lankan Cabinet has proposed visa-free entry for travelers from seven countries, including India, as a pilot project to boost the country’s tourism sector. This initiative will be in effect until March 31, 2024.

Visa-Free Entry for Indians and Other Countries

The Cabinet has granted immediate visa-free entry to travelers from India, China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Travelers from these nations can obtain a free visa to visit Sri Lanka. According to the data on travelers coming to Sri Lanka in September, India leads with 30,000 visitors, and China follows with 8,000 visitors.

Understanding Visa-Free Travel

Visa-free travel means you can travel to a foreign country without the need for a visa, often facilitated through mutual agreements or when a country unilaterally opens its borders for foreign nationals.

Best Time to Visit Sri Lanka

You can visit Sri Lanka at any time. However, the best time to visit Sri Lanka is considered from December to April.

If you wish to explore the west and south coasts and spend time amidst the hills, December to March is ideal.

For the eastern coast, April to September offers the best weather. Additionally, different parts of the country experience two distinct monsoon seasons, so plan your trip accordingly based on your preferences.

How to Reach Sri Lanka from Delhi
