Marine Drive in Rishikesh
Did you know that Rishikesh has its own version of a marine drive? The “Aastha Path” on the banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh is often referred to as the Marine Drive.
It was constructed several years ago with the aim of providing people with a better environment away from the hustle and bustle of Rishikesh’s riverbanks.
This road stretches approximately three kilometers from Triveni Ghat to the dam. Here, you can enjoy the presence of tourists while strolling along the Ganges in the morning and evening.
Neer Waterfall in Rishikesh
The Neergarh Waterfall, also known as Neer Waterfall, is the largest waterfall in Rishikesh. Located about 2 kilometers uphill from the Badrinath Highway, this waterfall is a popular spot for both locals and tourists to admire the natural beauty.
To reach this destination, you can take a motorable road, making it easily accessible.
These falls are famous as one of the largest in Rishikesh and will provide you with a sense of tranquility as soon as you arrive.
Shimmering Caves
A group of three caves known as the Nikoot Kajri Caves are situated on the Manikut Parvat, approximately 21 kilometers from the main city of Rishikesh, near the Laxman Jhula.
After driving to Neelkanth Temple, you can reach this place in about an hour or less by walking through dense forests.
The path is not difficult, and it is considered safe for most citizens. Spending a day here will give you a sense of peace. The Nikoot Kajri Forest is also home to several elephants.
Rishikund Hot Waterfall
Adjacent to the famous Raghunath Temple, you’ll find Rishikund, a beautiful ancient hot water waterfall.
It is believed that during his exile, Lord Rama took a dip in these waterfalls. In ancient times, the water from these falls was used by sages and monks for their sacred baths.
Located near Triveni Ghat, you can easily reach here by rickshaw. The path involves a bit of walking, but it’s not difficult or dangerous. Spending time here will surely give you a sense of tranquility.
Garud Chatti Waterfall
Situated about 9 kilometers from Rishikesh, the Garud Chatti Waterfall is considered the most beautiful during the monsoon season.
The water flows from seven different levels here. You can reach this spot by trekking for approximately 1.5 kilometers, starting from the Neelkanth Temple road, which is about 3 kilometers from Laxman Jhula.
Near this waterfall, you’ll also find the Garud Temple. Although this waterfall might seem relatively small, it is a fascinating place to visit.
