Shimla’s Debut: First-Ever International Flying Festival with a Grand Rs 1 Lakh Reward

The state government has devised a unique plan to attract tourists while dealing with natural disasters.

For the first time in Shimla, an International Flying Festival is set to take place from October 12 to 15,

featuring paraglider pilots not only from India but also from European countries like Switzerland, France, and Germany.

This festival will host various competitions, with winners receiving recognition.

Registration Limited to 120 Pilots

In this Flying Festival, there will be competitions in solo and tandem categories for paragliders.

The first prize in the solo category will be Rs. 2 lakh, while the winner in the tandem category will receive Rs. 1.75 lakh.

The competitions will focus on paragliding accuracy, and results will be announced based on scores from different rounds.

Online registration for paragliders has already started, and registration will be closed after 120 pilots apply.

Expanding the Festival Across Different Regions

In addition to the Shimla Flying Festival, trials have been conducted today to create awareness among locals and enthusiasts about this upcoming activity.

More trials will take place in the coming days. Similar events to attract paragliders are also being planned in Hamirpur’s Nadaun and Kullu-Manali.

CM Sukhdev Singh Sukhju to Inaugurate the Festival

The Flying Festival, commencing on October 12, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Sukhdev Singh Sukhju.

During the festival from October 12 to 15, there will be daily music festivals, art and culture launches, and traditional mountain food available in Junga, organized by paraglider pilots.
