” This divine tree has become a unique treasure in a village in Uttar Pradesh. Its colorful blossoms bloom every night and fall off as morning arrives.

It’s said that the Parijat tree was among the treasures that emerged from the churning of the ocean, along with the nectar.
Driven by his wife Satyabhama’s desire, Lord Krishna brought this tree from heaven to Earth.
During the Mahabharata era, Arjuna transported it from the city of Dwarka to the village of Kintoor.
The Village of Kintoor in Uttar Pradesh
This special tree is situated in the village of Kintoor, located in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.
The Parijat tree is known by various names such as Harshringar, Shefali, and Prajakta.
It has even been designated as the state flower of West Bengal.
However, you can only find this grand Parijat tree in this very village.
Every night, small and beautiful flowers bloom on this tree, only to fall off as morning arrives.
Where is This Village?
Around 38 km away from the Barabanki district, the village of Kintoor was established during the time of the Mahabharata.
It was named after Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas.
When the Pandavas were in exile, they stayed in this village.
In order to offer flowers to Lord Shiva daily, Mata Kunti required flowers.
At that time, Arjuna brought the Parijat tree from heaven to Earth.

What Makes the Parijat Tree Unique?
Unlike other trees, the Parijat tree’s flowers bloom at different times.
This peculiarity is linked to a story involving the curse of the king of gods, Indra.

Legend has it that Satyabhama adorned these flowers in her hair, and Rukmini inaugurated her vow using these blossoms.
