Maharashtra’s Blooming Marvel Perfect for Photographers

Uttarakhand boasts a place that every traveler dreams of visiting, and it’s stunningly beautiful.

This place is called the Valley of Flowers. Witnessing a multitude of vibrant flowers spread across this valley is an experience like no other. However, the best time to visit here is from July to September.

During this period, unpredictable weather can sometimes create obstacles, but fret not! There’s another place, equally enchanting, in Maharashtra.

Kas Pathar: A Blooming Marvel

Located 24 km away from Satara, Kas Pathar is one of Maharashtra’s most attractive destinations.

Kas is essentially a valley of flowers, where the scenery is exceptionally picturesque. This place was recognized by UNESCO in 2012 due to its mesmerizing floral diversity.

Positioned at an altitude of 1200 meters, Kas Pathar turns into a colorful carpet of flowers during the monsoons.

Approximately 850 varieties of flowers, including the beautiful Balasam, can be found here. Don’t miss capturing the breathtaking views of the valley while trekking.

Kas Lake: A Tranquil Oasis

Kas Lake, also known as Kas Talab, is another excellent spot to explore nearby. Situated close to the Valley of Flowers, this lake should not be missed.

The water from this lake supplies the entire Satara city. The best time to admire its beauty is undoubtedly during the monsoon season.

How to Reach?

By Flight: If you prefer flying, the nearest airport is in Pune. From Pune, you can reach Kas by bus or taxi.

By Train: For those traveling by train, you’ll need to reach Satara Railway Station. Kas Pathar is only 30 km away from the station, accessible by bus or taxi.

By Road: If you’re taking the road, be aware that the journey from Mumbai or Pune might take 3 to 5 hours. But the captivating beauty of Kas Pathar makes every minute of the trip worthwhile.
