India’s Musical Rhapsody and Literary Legacy UNESCO’s Latest City Honors!

In celebration of World Cities Day, Indian cities Gwalior and Kozhikode have been included in the list of 55 new cities of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.

Gwalior’s Musical Note, Kozhikode’s Literary Recognition

Gwalior from Madhya Pradesh has made its mark in the ‘Music’ category, while Kozhikode from Kerala has earned its place in the ‘Literature’ category of the list.

Embracing Culture and Creativity for Development

These new cities have been included in the list to integrate culture and creativity into their development strategies. UNESCO has shared the complete list of these 55 cities, including areas such as ‘Crafts and Folk Arts’ in Bukhara,

‘Media Arts’ in Casablanca, ‘Design’ in Chongqing, and ‘Film Rio de Janeiro Literature’ in Kathmandu. Currently, over 350 cities from more than 100 countries have been included in this list.
