Hassle-Free Travel: 312 railway Special Trains Rolled Out for Ganpati Festival

If you’re planning to travel by train for Ganpati Puja, Indian Railways has some good news.

They’ve announced the operation of 312 special trains to ensure smooth travel and prevent any hassles for passengers during this festive period.

A Big Decision for Easing Passenger Rush

Indian Railways has made a significant decision due to the increasing number of passengers.

To provide relief from the crowds during Ganpati festival and ensure confirmed tickets for travelers, they’ve decided to run 312 special trains in collaboration with Central and Western Railways.

Central and Western Railways Joint Effort

The Central Railway will run 257 trains, while the Western Railway will operate 55 trains. These special trains will connect Mumbai with various cities in Maharashtra.

Mumbai and other parts of the state witness heavy crowds during the Ganpati festival, prompting the operation of these special trains by the railways.

Increased Services for a Special Occasion

According to Central Railway officials, this year’s decision to run 312 special trains during the festival season is an increase from last year’s 18 Ganpati special trains.

Additionally, last year, Central Railway operated 294 special trains during the Ganpati festival season.

As per Railway estimates, they’ve kept 218 trains for reservation, compared to 262 last year.

Meanwhile, 94 trains remain unreserved, whereas 32 trains were unreserved in the previous year.

Central Railway anticipates around 1.04 lakh passengers to travel, generating revenue of approximately 513 crore INR.

Moreover, an estimated 1.50 lakh passengers are expected to travel on unreserved trains.

To meet the demand during the 10-day Ganpati Puja, Western and Central Railways have introduced these special trains.

Ganpati Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 19th. During this time, there will be increased vigilance and arrangements at railway stations and other cities in Maharashtra.

Railway authorities are working to ensure a smooth flow of passengers and proper scheduling of trains during this period.
