Efficient Travel Routes 5 NER Bypasses Eliminating Delays and Engine Direction Changes

Railway News: North Eastern Railway has made bypasses at five places to reduce the travel time of trains. It will be started sometime this month or sometime in December.

The direction of the engine has to be changed at all five places in Lucknow and Varanasi divisions, which takes about 30 minutes. This also affects the trains coming from behind.

There are reversal points at Lucknow Junction, Bhatni (Deoria), Thawe (Gopalganj), Tadighat (Ghazipur) and Gopalganj. This means that for further travel from these places the engine has to be connected to the other side.

Many trains going here at Lucknow Junction started running from Aishbagh but some still come here and their engines have to be changed.

A bypass has been prepared for this, preparations are on to connect it to Maizbullahpur soon.

After this, there will be no need to change the direction of engines of trains coming here. Currently, the direction of the engine of trains carrying mail has to be changed.

At the same time, the direction of the engine of the train going from Gorakhpur to Chhapra via Thawe has to be changed at Thawe. Due to this, about 40 minutes of time is wasted here also.

Keeping this in view, Y card bypass has been made here. After the bypass starts, here also the train will leave towards Chhapra without changing the direction of the engine.

Similarly, the engine direction of trains going from Chhapra to Banaras has to be changed at Bhatni Junction.

Delay in trains will reduce

After getting rid of changing the direction of the engine, the travel time of trains will also be reduced by 30 minutes.

This will also affect the schedule, then the duration of reversal point will remain like normal stations. Not only this, other trains are also affected during engine replacement. This will eliminate the reason for unnecessary delay.

Talking about railway administration,

CPRO of North Eastern Railway, Pankaj Kumar Singh said that wherever there is engine reversal, bypass has been made there.

Due to this there will be no need to rotate the engine. Bypass line is ready in Tadighat. It will be started soon.
