October 28, 2023 – A rare lunar eclipse, the second and last of the year, will begin at midnight on the full moon night of Ashwin month.

This eclipse will be visible in India, leading to a period of temple closures known as ‘sutak.’ During sutak, temple doors are closed, and they are reopened only after the sutak period ends.

However, many might wonder which temples will be closed during this lunar eclipse. Well-known temples like Khatushyam in Rajasthan will be closed for approximately 12 hours.

The Khatushyam temple will shut its doors from 3:30 PM on October 28 to 5:15 AM on October 29 due to the lunar eclipse.

Similarly, the Balaji temple in Churu district will also remain closed on October 28 due to the eclipse, reopening in the evening after the sutak period ends.
