Before Diwali, the metropolis will receive 25 new electric buses. With these additions, the total number of buses in service will rise to 52.

Most of these new buses will operate on rural routes, providing significant relief to travelers commuting from villages to the city.

Addressing Commuter Needs

Currently, the metropolis operates 25 electric buses on nine routes. However, the limited number of buses has led to long waiting times at bus stops.

Following government directives, the district will soon receive 75 electric buses. Out of these, 25 buses are set to be operational before Diwali, easing the commute for many passengers.

Route Expansion and Planning

The Electric Bus Operation Committee is actively working on expanding routes and increasing the number of buses on heavily used routes. Discussions are underway to introduce six new rural routes:

  • Bansgaon Route: Connects Bansgaon to the city.
  • Badhalganj Route: Links Badhalganj with urban areas.
  • Campiyarganj Route: Provides transport from Campiyarganj to the city center.
  • Sukarauli Route: Offers commuting options for Sukarauli residents.
  • Balapar Route: Connects Balapar to urban hubs.
  • Chaurichaura Route: Facilitates travel between Chaurichaura and the city.

Future Plans and Timetable

The Chief Executive Officer of the Electric Bus Operation Committee, P.K. Tiwari, stated that surveys for the new routes have been completed.

However, the timetable for bus operations on these routes has not been finalized yet. Once the buses arrive, schedules will be established, and the new routes will become operational, ensuring better connectivity for the commuters.
