However, there’s a solution if you find yourself in such a situation. You can obtain a refund for your train ticket from the railway. Today, we’ll explain the process to you.

Steps to Request a Ticket Refund (TDR)

 Step 1: Logging into Your IRCTC Account

To begin, log in to your IRCTC account.

 Step 2: Accessing Booking History and Selecting the Ticket

Next, go to your booking history and select the ticket for which you want a refund.

 Step 3: Providing Reason for Refund and Submission

Enter the reason for the refund request and submit it.

 Step 4: Confirmation and Timeframe

After submitting the refund request, you’ll receive a confirmation message on your mobile. Keep in mind that it might take up to 60 days for the process to be completed.

 Filing TDR Online: A Step-by-Step Guide

If your train has been missed or is running more than 3 hours late, follow these steps to file a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) online:

Step 1: Log In to Your IRCTC Account

Log in to your IRCTC account.

Step 2: Access Booking History and Select the Ticket

Go to your booking history and choose the ticket you need to file a TDR for.

Step 3: Provide Reason and Submit

Explain the reason for filing the TDR and submit the request.

Step 4: Confirmation and Review

Once your TDR is filed, you’ll receive a confirmation message. Review all the details and click ‘OK’.

Step 5: Check TDR Status

Check your TDR status, including PNR number, transaction ID, reference number, and TDR status.

Within 60 days of booking, your refunded amount will be credited back to your account.

By following these steps and adhering to railway rules and conditions, you can successfully claim a refund for your train ticket.
