Getting a job in the Indian Railway has caught the attention of many hopeful candidates.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared this information, highlighting vacant positions within the Indian Railway.
During the final day of the monsoon session in the Rajya Sabha, Ashwini Vaishnav revealed that there are hundreds of thousands of vacant positions in the Indian Railway.
He also mentioned plans to expedite the recruitment process.
Boost in Employment Prospects in India
Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated in the Rajya Sabha during the concluding day of the monsoon session that there are 250,000 vacant positions in the Indian Railway.
Filling these positions could significantly enhance employment opportunities in India.
If applications for these positions (Indian Railway Recruitment Seats) are released, numerous candidates could secure jobs, leading to an overall increase in employment prospects in the country.
Vacant Seats Count – 2070 Positions
As of July 1, 2023, there are 2070 vacant seats in Group A and Group B.
Ashwini Vaishnav mentioned that according to the notification, except for Level-1 in Group ‘C’, a total of 128,349 candidates have been listed for various other positions until June 30, 2023.
It’s worth noting that the Indian Railway provides 10% horizontal reservation in Level 1 and 5% reservation in Level 2 for all eligible candidates.
5-Year Relaxation for Agniveer Candidates
Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also informed that the first batch of Agniveer candidates will receive a 5-year relaxation in age for Railway jobs.
However, other candidates will be given a 3-year age relaxation.
Consequently, Agniveer candidates will have a 5-year age advantage over others when applying for various positions within the Indian Railway.
The candidates applying for different roles in the Indian Railway will benefit from a 3-year relaxation in age.
