The holiday season is here! In the month of August, many Hindu festivals are celebrated, along with national holidays.

Due to these national and religious festivals, August brings several days off, with banks and many offices closing, allowing people to enjoy their time off.

However, compared to August, September does not offer as many holidays.

September Festivals and Holidays

In September, we have Janmashtami and Milad un-Nabi, according to the Islamic calendar, as the major festivals. Apart from these, September hosts a few other minor festivals.

If you’re planning to make the most of September’s holidays or wish to travel during the holidays, it’s essential to know when the best time to travel is.

Holidays in September

September offers a limited number of holidays. For instance, on September 6th and 7th, we celebrate Janmashtami, resulting in bank closures and holidays in many offices.

On September 28th and 29th, we observe the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, known as Barawafat, which may also be a holiday. The availability of these holidays can vary by state.

In Delhi, the 20th Summit is scheduled, causing the capital city to be closed for three days.

From September 8th to 10th, most schools, colleges, and offices will either remain closed or offer work from home options.
