Occasionally, we embark on a road trip by renting a car to enhance our experience.

However, if our destination is far away and we wish to travel cost-effectively, we often rely on train travel. Nowadays, train facilities are comparable to those of an airplane.

For instance, passengers can easily order food without any inconvenience, and the delivery personnel brings it right to their seat.

What would you do if you were charged more than the MRP for the food served to you on the train?

In the past, you may have felt helpless and not known what to do.

However, now you have the option to file a complaint instantly. In this article, we will explain how you can do so.

What to do if the station shopkeeper asks for more money?

In addition to this, it is common for shopkeepers located at the railway station to demand additional payment from customers.

Despite being in a rush, it is important to exercise caution and refrain from purchasing the food they offer.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, make sure to file a complaint against the shopkeeper, as per railway regulations, such behavior is prohibited.

Enter the required information in the complaint

To file a complaint, you must provide essential details including the name of the shop where you made the purchase, the name of the shopkeeper, the name of the railway station, the platform number, and the stall number.

This information is crucial in initiating a complaint. By providing these details, you can file a complaint online.

Where to file complaint

You can lodge a complaint against the food stall or shopkeeper who sold you the goods.

To do so, you can either call the railway helpline number, 139, or report the matter to the railway officials at the station.

If the officials fail to assist you, you can also file a complaint using the railway app.
