People in the capital city sometimes feel frustrated because they think there’s nothing interesting to see in the city or nearby areas.

Maybe Delhi residents would agree with this, as they often find themselves wandering around malls or gazing at historical buildings they’ve seen countless times.

But what if we told you that Delhi has a mini Ladakh nearby? You might find it hard to believe, but it’s true.

Discovering Mini Ladakh in Faridabad

In Faridabad, there’s a place often referred to as Mini Ladakh, and some people even call it “Pangong Lake” or “Goa Beach.

” However, its real name is Surajkund Lake, and some also know it as “Paani Kot Jheel.”

Situated not far from Ballabhgarh-Sohna Road in Haryana, this is a great spot for family   outings. Let’s take a closer look at this place.

Crystal Clear Waters of the Lake

This lake is surrounded by small hills, which is why it’s sometimes called Pangong.

The water in the lake is quite old, and during weekends, you’ll see a good number of tourists here.

Due to this, the water can get a bit murky, but once it settles, it becomes as clear as crystal again.

Tips for Your Visit

If you’re planning a trip to “Mini Ladakh,” there are a few things to keep in mind. Since the lake is surrounded by small hills, parking facilities are limited.

If you’re arriving on a two-wheeler, you might find parking near the lake. However, if you’re driving a car, you’ll need to park it outside.

No Shops Available

Additionally, there are no shops around, so it’s a good idea to bring your own food and drinks. Littering is strictly discouraged.

Notably, this place is not only popular among regular folks but also frequented by celebrities for shoots and pre-wedding photography.

Avoid Visiting at Night

Panikot Lake resembles small islands due to being surrounded by several ponds.

On one side, you’ll see rugged hills, while the other side offers views reminiscent of Ladakh. However, it’s advisable not to visit here at night.

Getting to Surajkund Lake, Faridabad

This beautiful lake is about an hour’s drive from Delhi.

On the way from Delhi or Gurgaon, you’ll pass through a village named Dhauj, where you can also enjoy various activities like camping and rock climbing.

The distance from Gurgaon to Surajkund Lake is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (36 km),

from Delhi it’s about 1 hour and 45 minutes (57 km), and from Faridabad, it’s just 41 minutes away (21 km).
