To enhance passenger convenience and reduce extra crowds, Indian Railways is operating 283 special trains up to Chhath Puja this year. These trains will cover 4,480 trips, connecting major destinations across the country.

Planned Routes and Notable Train Services

The Railway Ministry has released a statement outlining plans for special trains on routes such as Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Danapur-Saharsa, Danapur-Bengaluru, Ambala-Saharsa, Muzaffarpur-Yeshvantpur, Puri-Patna, and Okha.

Special trains will also run on routes like Naharlagun, Siyaldeh-NJP, Kochuveli-Bengaluru, Varanasi-Mumbai, and Howrah-Raxaul. In 2022, Indian Railways scheduled 2,614 trips for 216 Puja Special Trains, emphasizing passenger ease in unreserved coaches.

Additional Security Measures and Assistance Booths

For passenger safety, extra Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at major stations. Officials have been placed on emergency duty at key stations to ensure smooth train operations.

Employees are assigned to various sections to promptly address any service disruptions. Continuous announcements are made for the timely arrival and departure of trains, along with platform numbers.

“May I Help You” booths have been set up at important stations, where RPF and ticket checking staff provide proper assistance and guidance to passengers. Medical teams, along with ambulances, are also available at major stations.

Vigilance and Cleanliness

The Railway Ministry emphasizes a strict vigilance against any malpractices by the Security and Vigilance Department. Directives from the zonal headquarters ensure cleanliness,

particularly in waiting halls, retiring rooms, platforms, and general station areas, maintaining a hygienic environment for travelers.
