Before the tourist season begins, there’s good news for visitors. To enter the main dome of the Taj Mahal, you can now get your tickets from the Taj Western Gate ticket window.

This new arrangement started on Sunday, September 3rd. To view the main dome of the Taj Mahal, an extra fee of 200 rupees is required, in addition to the 50 rupees entrance fee.

If you want to explore the upper levels of the Taj Mahal, it will cost you a total of 250 rupees. The 250-rupee ticket will also be available to tourists at the outside window.

Additionally, you can book tickets online, which has been available previously.

Directions from Agra District Magistrate

The Agra District Magistrate, Ritu Maheshwari, has directed officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to increase the number of ticket counters.

Moreover, orders have been given to ensure the convenience of tourists, big or small.

According to Prince Wazipee, Assistant Conservator of the Taj Mahal, there were originally three ticket counters at the Western Gate.

Now, an additional window has been added, offering tourists a 250-rupee ticket. Two windows are currently operating at the Eastern Gate as well, where you can also purchase a 250-rupee ticket.

Ensuring Tourist Safety

Even before the tourist season starts, the police are vigilant about ensuring tourists’ safety. Tourists’ safety is their top priority.

ACP Security, Arif Ahmad, mentioned that the police have initiated “Operation Dilaight” before the tourist season begins.

This operation aims to educate tourists and enhance their security. Any anti-social elements should not disturb tourists in any way, and the police will keep a close watch.

Furthermore, action will be taken against anyone bothering tourists, including touts.
