In India, there is going to be a big meeting called G20 Summit. It will happen in the capital, Delhi, and leaders from all over the world will come.

To prepare for this meeting, more than 30 hotels have been booked in Delhi’s NCR, where representatives from around the world will stay.

The G20 Summit will have leaders like American President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping attending.

Due to the foreign guests coming to India, some other preparations are also happening in Delhi. During this time, there will be a three-day holiday declared.

So, if you plan to go out during this time, here are some things to keep in mind, and make the most of the holiday.

When is the holiday in Delhi?

Because of the G20 Summit, there will be a holiday from September 8th to September 10th in Delhi. During the weekend, schools, colleges, and offices will be closed.

Also, some malls in Delhi will be closed. In many places, there will be road diversions, and entry of vehicles will be banned in some areas.

Planning to visit during the G20 Summit

You can take advantage of the three-day holiday to go out of the city. Leave on Thursday evening or Friday morning for your trip.

However, if you are planning to stay within the city during the holiday, avoid it. There will be many road closures and diversions in Delhi, so it’s better to go outside the city for your holiday.

Where to go during the 3-day holiday

During the three-day holiday, you can visit the hill stations in Uttarakhand. Places like Haridwar and Rishikesh offer a great opportunity for sightseeing.

You can also consider Himachal Pradesh, which is not too far from Delhi, where you can visit beautiful places like Kasauli, Kullu Manali, and Kurfi.

Choose hill stations that are less crowded for a peaceful holiday.

Rajasthan is also a good option for visiting beautiful cities like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Udaipur.

However, make sure to book your hotel in advance as many tourist spots have seen increased hotel bookings.

Where not to go during the G20 Summit

Many malls in Delhi may be closed during this time, so avoid planning visits to these malls.

Avoid sightseeing at famous tourist spots and historical places in the city during this period.

Due to road closures and restrictions in some areas of Delhi, it’s better to avoid city tours.

During the G20 Summit, you might also face a shortage of taxis for three days.

Tour and travel companies have already booked taxis for guests coming from around the world.

So, make sure to book a taxi in advance or consider using your private vehicle for travel.
