Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently met with Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to discuss enhancing railway connectivity in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
During the meeting, he emphasized the need for better train services between Dehradun and Lucknow and urged for the operation of the Vande Bharat Express train on this route.
Additionally, he sought approval for the construction of the Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail line and requested the expansion of railway services.
Direct Train Services and Improved Connectivity
Chief Minister Dhami proposed the introduction of direct train services connecting important cities like Ahmedabad to Kathgodam, and Haridwar and Dehradun to enhance connectivity.
He also suggested reinstating the coaches for Kotdwar in the Doon Express and Ramnagar in the Janata Express. Furthermore, he urged the initiation of new railway services from Tanakpur to Mehandipur Balaji in Rajasthan.
