In a recent meeting of the Central Cabinet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the green light to an e-bus service.

This service aims to introduce about 10,000 new electric buses across the country, with a total budget of 57,613 crore rupees.

The Indian government will contribute 20,000 crore rupees to this initiative. Let’s dive into the details!

Key Highlights:

  • E-Bus Service: This new service, known as the E-Bus Service, will be rolled out in nearly 100 cities across India by 2037. It’s a significant step toward promoting eco-friendly transportation. Additionally, a Bus Rapid Transit Project will also be developed to enhance public transportation.
  • Traditional Craftsmen to Benefit: The Vishwakarma Yojana, a program aimed at supporting traditional craftsmen, has been approved with a budget of 13,000 crore rupees.
  • This initiative will offer affordable loans of up to 2 lakh rupees to individuals engaged in traditional professions.
  • Around 30 lakh families are expected to benefit from this scheme.

Boosting Railways and Connectivity: A Win for States

During the Central Cabinet meeting, several crucial decisions were made to improve railway infrastructure and connectivity in various states.

Here are the key projects that received approval:

Railway Expansion:

Seven major railway projects have been granted approval, totaling a budget of 32,500 crore rupees.

These projects will greatly benefit Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

Notably, the doubling of railway tracks from Gorakhpur to Balmiki Nagar, costing 1,269 crore rupees, will enhance rail connectivity.

Furthermore, a one-kilometer-long bridge over the Gandak River will provide benefits to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and even Nepal.

Important Decisions Taken by the Cabinet:

The Central Cabinet meeting resulted in several significant decisions, contributing to the nation’s progress:

  • Support for Small Businesses: Under the Swnidhi Yojana, a financial assistance program for small businesses, 70,000 crore rupees have been allocated.
  • This move has directly benefited 42 lakh individuals.
  • Digital India Extension: An allocation of 14,903 crore rupees has been approved for extending the Digital India program.
  • This funding will be used to upgrade the skills of IT professionals.
  • Information Security Enhancement: Over 2.65 lakh individuals will receive training in information security.
  • The expansion of services, including 540 service centers and 9 supercomputers, is in the pipeline.
  • Tech Advancements: The Bhaskhani App will undergo expansion, and a Digital Locker will be introduced for MSMEs.
  • Support for Startups: Around 1,200 startups in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities will receive support. Additionally,
  • cybersecurity tools will be further developed to ensure digital safety.

By making these decisions, the Central Cabinet is working to create a greener, more connected, and digitally secure India, benefitting both its citizens and the environment.
