Bahraich: The Transport Corporation has decided to make the fare for capital service buses equal to that of regular buses.
In this matter, the Chief Personnel Manager at the corporation headquarters issued instructions to RM (Regional Manager) and ARM (Area Regional Manager) last Monday.
Previously, the fare for traveling from Bahraich to Lucknow on capital service buses was 210 rupees.
However, following the new directive, the fare has been reduced to 192 rupees. This means passengers will now have to pay approximately 18 rupees less for their journey.
Public Outcry and Relief Measures
In February, the State Transport Authority had increased the fare for Roadways buses by 25 paise per kilometer, which had a significant impact on travelers.
After the fare hike, passengers traveling from Bahraich to Lucknow on regular buses had to pay 192 rupees instead of the previous 159 rupees. The fare for capital service buses was 210 rupees.
The fare increase had sparked considerable anger among the people in the district. Many viewed the decisions made by the corporation administration as anti-public.
It’s worth mentioning that the fare for capital service buses was ten percent higher compared to regular buses.
However, in the 246th meeting of the Board of Directors held on October 18th, the corporation administration decided to grant a ten percent discount only on capital service buses, bringing relief to passengers.
Implementation of Reduced Fare
In light of the directives issued by the Transport Corporation headquarters, RM and ARM have started charging passengers the same fare as regular buses for traveling on capital service buses from Bahraich to Lucknow.
This reduction in fare, lowering it by ten percent for capital service buses, became effective from Tuesday.
Passengers traveling on capital service buses are now required to pay 192 rupees instead of the previous 210 rupees, providing considerable relief to commuters.
