Visitors are often mesmerized by its beauty, and it holds a special feature of having a self-manifested Shiva Linga.

Because of this, every year, thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world come here to explore and pay their respects to the self-manifested Shiva Linga.

The Enchanting Yana Caves in Karnataka

Among the many tourist destinations in South India, one stands out – the beautiful mountain range of the Western Ghats.

Nestled within these unique rock formations are the Yana Caves, located in the Uttara Kannada region of Karnataka.

Amidst Lush Green Jungles

These picturesque and beautiful caves are nestled amidst the lush greenery of the jungle. To reach these caves, you need to trek through the stunning forest, covering a distance of about 3 kilometers after a forest trek of over 700 meters.

This place is known for trekking, jungle safaris, waterfalls, remarkable natural formations, and, of course, the self-manifested Shiva Linga.

It’s also recognized as the second cleanest place in India and the cleanest in Karnataka.

Home to a Self-Manifested Shiva Linga

Inside these cave formations, there’s a self-manifested Shiva Linga. The way this Linga is naturally bathed is truly astonishing.

Locals refer to this Shiva Linga as “Gangodhara Mahadeva.” Additionally, there’s a statue of Goddess Durga in her Chandi Avatar, made of bronze, present here.

Other Attractions Nearby

Just 10 kilometers away from Yana Caves is Vibhuti Waterfall. This waterfall drops from a height of 30 feet but flows in three to four steps.

Visitors can even enjoy swimming here. This place is a wonderland for nature enthusiasts and photographers.

How to Reach Yana Rocks

To reach this magnificent place, you can take road routes from cities like Bangalore, Panaji, Mumbai, Mangalore, or Hubli.

Alternatively, you can also access it by train; the nearest railway station is Hubli. From Hubli, Yana Rocks are approximately 141 kilometers away.

The closest airport, Hubli Airport, is about 174 kilometers from Yana Caves.
