In a heartfelt tribute to the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, the ‘My Soil, My Country’ campaign is organizing various events and ceremonies at the grassroots, block, urban local body, state, and national levels.
This initiative is a result of collective participation, aiming to express deep gratitude to the courageous individuals who laid down their lives.
The campaign includes the construction of memorials to honor these valiant heroes, along with initiatives like planting indigenous plants, developing ‘Amrit Vatikas’ (gardens), and organizing events to pay respect to the families of freedom fighters and martyrs.
Nationwide Success: Achievements of the ‘My Soil, My Country’ Campaign
The ‘My Soil, My Country’ campaign has gained momentum across the country. Over 2,30,000 ‘Shilapatts’ (plaques) have been created in 36 states and union territories as part of this campaign.
Around 4 crore selfies showcasing the ‘Panch-Pran’ sentiment have been uploaded on social media in support of this initiative. More than 2 lakh ‘Veeron Ka Vandana’ (tribute to the brave) programs were organized nationwide.
Additionally, 2.36 crore indigenous plants were planted, and 2.63 lakh ‘Amrit Vatikas’ were developed under the theme of ‘Vasudha Vandana’ (salutation to the earth). The enthusiasm among people is palpable, as they actively engage and participate in these initiatives.
Railways’ Support: Facilitating Volunteers’ Journey
To facilitate the journey of volunteers bringing soil-filled urns from various parts of the country, the Ministry of Railways has taken significant steps.
Special trains for ‘Kalash Yatra’ (urn procession) have been arranged, ensuring the arrival of volunteers with clay-filled urns. Railways also provided facilities for welcoming, congratulating, and meeting volunteers within railway premises.
Indian Railways is actively participating in such programs under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (celebration of freedom) initiative, playing a crucial role in spreading awareness about similar events among the public.
PM Modi’s Gesture: Embracing the Spirit of Unity
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the concluding program of the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ organized under the ‘My Soil, My Country’ campaign on the Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
During the event, he placed a tilak on the expansive ‘Amrit Kalash’ representing soil collected from various parts of the country by representatives from states and union territories.
Symbolizing the spirit of ‘One India, Best India,’ the soil from diverse regions was brought to Delhi. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the ‘Amrit Vatika’ and the ‘Amrit Mahotsav Smarak’ (memorial) and initiated the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ (My Youth, My India) platform for the nation’s youth.
This program marks the culmination of the celebrations under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative.
