In 1893, before his participation in the World’s Parliament of Religions, Vivekananda visited Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

At the heart of the memorial, an eight-foot bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda rests on a four-foot-high platform.

How to Reach and Plan Your Visit
By Bus, Flight, or Train:
- Buses from Tirunelveli, Madurai, Coimbatore, Puducherry, and Chennai ply to Kanyakumari Bus Stand.
- Tirunelveli International Airport and Madurai International Airport offer flight options, located approximately 67 km and 240 km away, respectively.
- Trains to Kanyakumari Station can be booked through IRCTC, and the memorial is just 1.3 km away from the station.
Ferry Service and Tickets:
- As the Vivekananda Rock Memorial is nearly 500 meters offshore, visitors must take a ferry from Kanyakumari Port, available every 15 minutes. Tickets can be purchased for around 35 rupees.
- The ferry operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, subject to weather conditions.
Entry Fee and Best Time to Visit:
- An entry ticket costs 20 rupees, and the memorial is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.
- The best time to visit is from March to July and then from October to March. Avoid visiting during the monsoon season due to rough sea conditions.
