Prime Minister Narendra Modi has bestowed a significant gift upon tourists visiting Rajasthan – the Rajasthan Heritage Train.

Inaugurated on Thursday, this heritage train promises a unique experience as it stops at a single seat.

During its journey, passengers will be treated to the enchanting sights of Rajasthan, including the picturesque Gorum Ghat, often referred to as the ‘Mini Kashmir of Rajasthan,’ and the Jog Mandir Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Rajasthan.

Let’s delve into the distinctive features of this train and its fare details…

Unique Heritage Look and Affordable Fare

The Rajasthan Heritage Train has been designed with a heritage look resembling a 150-year-old steam engine.

Operating only four days a week, this train allows tourist bookings on two specific days. Group bookings for more than 10 people are also available, although the exact pricing for group bookings has not been disclosed yet.

Individual travelers can embark on this journey for a fare of 2000 rupees per person. The train departs from Marwar Junction, passing through Gorum Ghat, Fulad, and finally reaching Kamli Ghat.

Journey Duration and Passenger Comfort

The entire journey lasts for 9 hours. The train departs from Marwar Junction at 8:30 AM, reaching Kamli Ghat at 11 AM.

After a stoppage of 3 hours for sightseeing, the train departs again at 2:30 PM, returning to Marwar Junction at 5:30 PM.

Meal services will be provided for passengers at Kamli Ghat, and an additional charge will be applicable for this facility.

The train compartments are adorned with Rajasthan’s cultural artwork, depicting scenes of elephants, horses, and palanquins.

A unique feature is the Vistadome coach, offering panoramic views at 360 degrees. Passengers can capture the scenic beauty through their phone cameras.

The train accommodates 60 passengers and features large windows on all three sides. The train stops for about 25 minutes in Fulad after departing from Marwar, allowing passengers to alight at selfie points.

Additionally, a small pantry will be available for tea and snacks, offering convenience to the travelers.
