Nepal’s proposed Ramayana Circuit is expected to boost tourism, increasing the number of Indian tourists visiting Nepal.

This statement was made by the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Navin Srivastava, during a program held in Pokhara.

He emphasized that the planned Ramayana Circuit would attract more Indian tourists to Nepal, benefiting both nations.

India-Nepal Connectivity Through the Ramayana Circuit

Nepal, being India’s neighboring country, sees a significant influx of Indian tourists. Indian tourists do not require visas to visit Nepal, leading to a popular travel destination.

Many Indians travel to Nepal for religious journeys, visiting places like Janakpur, associated with Sita Mata, and the revered Pashupatinath Temple.

The Significance of the Ramayana Circuit

The Ramayana Circuit, connecting major pilgrimage sites in India and Nepal, holds deep religious importance.

Tourists can embark on a spiritual journey starting from Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, India, and traveling to Janakpur in Nepal, visiting sites related to the ancient epic Ramayana.

Boosting Tourism Through Collaborative Efforts

In the previous year, a Ramayana-themed train was introduced for tourists traveling to Janakpur, ensuring convenience and comfort for Indian visitors.

The railway line connecting Janakpur-Kurtha-Bijulpura has further facilitated the influx of tourists, enhancing tourism between India and Nepal.

Collaborative initiatives like the Ramayana Circuit are pivotal in strengthening the cultural and tourism ties between the two nations.
