This wheel is a replica of the Konark Wheel from the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha, also known as Konarka or Konarak.

A Temple Devoted to the Sun God
Konark is a part of Odisha’s Golden Triangle, which includes Bhubaneswar and Puri. It was constructed in 1250 AD by King Narasimhadeva I and is known for its grandeur.
The temple resembles the chariot of the Sun God, with 12 pairs of wheels and seven horses pulling it.
The Konark Wheel is the primary attraction here, functioning like a sundial and accurately indicating time.
Each wheel represents a month, and the eight spokes within the wheel indicate the eight segments of a day. The temple is adorned with stunning architecture and intricate sculptures.

The temple’s courtyard is divided into the Natya Mandap and Jagmohan.
Due to security reasons, entry to the main part of the temple is restricted, but there are several other elements that make the temple captivating.

How to Reach the Temple
The Konark Sun Temple is located in Puri district of Odisha. It is approximately 60 kilometers away from Bhubaneswar, Odisha’s capital.
Due to its popularity as a tourist spot, reaching here is quite convenient. You can book a train or flight to Bhubaneswar and then easily hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Konark.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Konark is between October and February. During this time, the weather is pleasant, thanks to its proximity to the sea. The visiting hours for the temple are from 6 AM to 10 PM.
