Every day, a large number of devotees visit Mata Vaishno Devi’s shrine in Katra.
To make this journey more convenient for travelers, Indian Railways has decided to operate two special trains between New Delhi and Katra, starting from September 6th.
In addition to the special trains, you can also consider the Vande Bharat Express for a faster journey.
Quick Travel with Vande Bharat Express
The Vande Bharat Express is the fastest train on the New Delhi-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route. It will take you from New Delhi to Katra in just 8 hours.
If you’re short on time, this train provides a speedy way to reach Mata Vaishno Devi’s shrine.
Special Train Schedule (Train Number 04071/04072)
Starting from September 7th, the special train (Train Number 04071/04072) will depart from New Delhi at 11:15 PM and arrive at Katra the next day at 11:25 AM.
On the return journey, it will leave Katra at 6:30 PM and reach New Delhi at 6:50 AM the following day.
This train will stop at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur stations along the way.
Special Train Schedule (Train Number 04081/04082)
Train Number 04081/04082, the New Delhi-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vikali Special Train, will start operating from September 7th.
It will depart from New Delhi at 11:15 PM and reach Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 11:25 AM the next day.
On the return journey, the train will leave Katra at 6:30 PM on September 10th and arrive in New Delhi at 6:50 AM the following day.
This train will stop at various stations including Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur.
Delhi to Mata Vaishno Devi Katra with Vande Bharat Express
For those who want a quick journey to Katra, the New Delhi-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express is an excellent choice.
This luxury train departs from New Delhi at 6 AM and reaches Katra at 2 PM, stopping briefly at Ambala, Ludhiana, and Jammu Tawi on the same day.
On the return journey, it leaves Katra at 3 PM and arrives in Delhi at 11 PM the same day.
