In the past month, a report revealed that in the year 2022, 72 million people visited Kashi (Varanasi), while 8.5 million people traveled to Goa.

Currently, there is a lot of discussion around the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and it is believed that the temple inauguration will take place in January.

Consequently, many people are planning extensive trips to Ayodhya. This article provides a special report on this trend.

Increasing Interest in Ayodhya and Varanasi Tourism

Since the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple corridor in 2021, there has been a significant rise in tourist interest in Varanasi.

Furthermore, discussions are underway about the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in January 2024,

leading to a considerable boost in the travel industry at the beginning of the year. We spoke to experts in the travel industry about this.

Surging Demand for Ayodhya Travel in January

In January, there is a significant surge in demand for travel to Ayodhya, especially during the second week when the temple’s inauguration is expected.

Experts suggest that people are increasingly interested in visiting Ayodhya to witness the new temple’s inauguration.

Extended Stays and Planning for Ayodhya Visit

Many travelers are planning to stay in Ayodhya for multiple days, booking accommodations for 4 to 8 days.

Hotels, guesthouses, and flights are in high demand during the period from January 20th to 26th.

Travelers want to arrive in Ayodhya before the temple’s inauguration and stay for an extended period to experience the spiritual atmosphere.

Explore Nearby Places

Apart from Ayodhya, there are several nearby places worth visiting if you plan an extended stay.

Some options include Hanuman Garhi Temple, Sita Ki Rasoi, Ram Ki Garhi, Kanak Bhavan, Nageshwar Nath Temple, and Birla Temple.

Ayodhya’s Proximity to Other Attractions

Ayodhya’s proximity to other cities like Varanasi and Prayagraj (Allahabad) allows travelers to explore more.

Within a 4-hour drive, you can reach Varanasi, known for its Kashi Vishwanath Temple and other attractions like Durga Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, and Assi Ghat.

Prayagraj, about 170 kilometers away, offers attractions such as Triveni Sangam, Allahabad Fort, Khusro Bagh, and ISKCON Temple.

Increase in Ayodhya Travel Interest

Interest in traveling to Ayodhya has increased significantly, with a surge in inquiries for January compared to the past five years.

Those unable to visit in January are planning bookings for February and March to witness the inauguration of the Ram Temple.

Most travelers plan to stay for a minimum of 2 days, while many intend to stay for 4 to 8 days in January.

In response to the demand, companies are preparing to provide as many rooms as possible for booking.
