During such situations, you will be charged a penalty of around 250 rupees, and you will be required to pay the fare for the category of coach you are traveling in.
Advantages of Having a Platform Ticket
Having a platform ticket comes with several advantages. If you possess a platform ticket, you can approach the TTE to get a reserved ticket for your journey.
Even when the TTE collects the fare from you, the departure station mentioned on your platform ticket will be considered the starting point of your journey.
Therefore, you will only be charged for the category of coach in which you are traveling.
Keep Your Ticket from the Counter
If you have purchased a ticket from the railway station’s ticket counter, make sure to keep it safe with you throughout your journey.
Simply taking a photo of the ticket won’t be considered valid. However, if you have lost your counter ticket, there are certain conditions you must fulfill.
After meeting these conditions, you can travel without a counter ticket without any hassle. Firstly, you need to prove that you are the person for whom the ticket was issued.
